Kardashian Domination Trend Fashion Media

The news that the Kardashians are starting their own family magazine is no surprise, in fact, it makes perfect sense. The digital magazine will be promoted through social media, and will essentially harness the power of their Twitter profiles. With Kim having over 12 million fans, and even the less known Kendall Jenner having over 2 million, that is a lot of fans which can translate into a lot of traffic for their magazine.

But this raises questions about the future of media, and makes me wonder if we will see the same types of changes that we saw in the fashion product world. In the past, celebrities used to model and wear designer clothing, then they started making their own, under their own labels. Same thing happened with fragrances and other product categories, but until now, they have relied on media to promote them. Aside from having their own blogs, most celebrities need exposure in mainstream blogs and magazines to grow or maintain their public profiles.

But if a celebrity were to create their own magazine, then they wouldn’t be at the mercy of the major publications. Don’t like what a magazine said about you? Then say it yourself, through your own magazines. Want to dispel rumours about your divorce, or promote your own clothing line? Who needs a trashy magazine to do that, a celebrity could just do and say what they wanted in their own magazine.

With retailers starting their own magazines (Net A Porter is a good example), the natural progression is surely for celebrities to do the same. This will spell big trouble for the magazines that rely on celebrity covers to sell issues, I am guessing that the Kardashians will say no to cover shoots and interviews in regular press, as the will want to be exclusive to their own magazine.

It is about time the fashion media suffers the same problems as the fashion designers do: being replaced by tacky, un-talented celebrities is not fun.

I won’t even bother commenting on how I think this will be an incredibly sad magazine, and that I can’t believe that anyone would want to read this type of crap. If Crocs can make 1 billion dollars in a year, then we already know that there are incredibly tacky people out there with no taste and money to spend. So there are surely a bunch who will read the Kardashian family magazine, too.

Bikini Trends 2012

Bikini trends tend to move a little differently as far as changing compared to other types of fashions such as clothing and accessories. The reason for this is because the designers of swimwear don’t want to take away the basic sexiness of a bikini, monokini, or a full coverage swimsuit, so instead they add different prints and designs to make them still look sexy yet unique.

Vintage swimwear has been brought back and made to look sexy and updated for women today of 2011 and 2012. Many of the vintage bikinis always consisted of ruffles and lace which takes it one step further in making them look extra sexy and feminine.

If you are interested in a vintage type swimsuit, then there are some features that you should look for which include:

• Full tops

• Boy leg bottoms

• Higher waist

• Cinched waist

• Halters

• Higher necklines

Ruffles are very feminine and classy, and you will see several bikinis this summer season with ruffles bordering the tops of the bikinis and the top border of the bottoms.

Crochet bikinis are super sexy and feminine. These types of bikinis actually reveal a lot more skin as opposed to the other styles. They are neatly woven into various different patterns to give them their own unique look. If they are worn correctly, they certainly do give off an extreme sex appeal look and several people will notice.

The shoulder strap bikini is back; it was in style previously in the year 2009. However, for this season, the strap of the bikini will be wider and it will most likely be a different color from the rest of the bikini, unlike how it was in the year of 2009 when the strap was thin and was the same color of the rest of the bikini.

Statement strap bikinis are those that have various different straps that go across the waist, slits through the hips, or strips on the top straps of the bikini. It is easy to picture more of what they look like if you think of pants that have that rebellious ripped look.

Rolex Datejust 36mm 2009 Watches Collection

So yes, it’s 100% Rolex from the 2009 collection called Datejust 36mm. Available in eight models with four floral variations, mother of pearl and two wave dials, Rolex Datejust 36mm is encrusted with diamonds, the story continues right after the jump with more pictures.

The new feminine series has an officially certified Chronometer, has a power reserve of 48 hours and it’s 100m (330ft) waterproof. The two bracelets available are Oyster bracelet (with an Oysterclasp) or Jubilee (with a Crownclasp).

I’m unsure how the 52 brilliant-cut diamonds bezel set helps the overall look of this new Rolex series, but I’m convinced it doesn’t enhance the watches functions.

The most discrete design is the mother-or-pearl dial but even so they had to stud-in some diamonds to bright up your every hour. I’m sure this new Rolex Datejust 36mm has the Paris Hilton seal of bling-approval! Since that last dubious tasted chair that Pharrell Williams (said to have) designed, I heard nothing outrageously notable in Pharrell’s designer interests.

Until this Casio came along! The Bape Casio G-Shock DW-6900 wristwatch could look as cheap as possible to everyone but know that it’s encrusted in gold! And the G-Shock iconic logo is unbelievably rainbow colored. And tacky. And cheap. So cheap. Too cheap.

Another one bites the fame endorsement dust! Actually it’s not another – it’s the same ol’ entrepreneur Kardashian – Kim who’d be selling the sand beneath her feet if only she could. And maybe, some day (if you’ll be nice enough), she would!

So what’s Kim Kardashian been up to lately? Well she got herself into watches by collaborating with Brissmor and creating (ahem) a 24 – pieces collection. With names like “the Dallas” and “the London”, “the Beverly Hills” and “the Paris”, one can only safely assume that she’s in for a long city run. After all, she only got as far as seven cities thus far (each declined in 3 variations) plus a country (the Italy). If it’s not worn on your lower back side, Kim, I’m afraid it won’t catch the much deserved attention!

Also, if it doesn’t enhance your lips or your behind with every tick tack, it could prove to be a frail business venture. What kind of product would you expect Kim to release next?

Christian Louboutin’s Spring Summer 2012 Shoes Collection

Yes, I’m fully aware of the season, and no, this is not meant to tease you in any way! I love Christmas and the joy it brings, the snowmen and the ice skating, it’s all me! But then again, I also love the spring, the entire world awakening and preparing for the warm, sensuous summer with warm, sandy beaches and foamy waves!

And fierce stilettos, awesome platform sandals, dreamy peep toe pumps and .. well, you know, if Santa would really want to spoil the world’s fashionistas, he’d bring them at least one pair of Louboutins each Christmas!
